BMC-CON 2022 and REUNION 2022
The grand annual academic fest was held
during 25-27th November, 2022. Two hands on workshops were conducted
targeting both the medical students and practicing doctors. Dr. Sanjib Majumdar
(batch 95-96) has remained the resource person for the Workshop on ‘Ultrasonography’.
The workshop on "understanding the ECG” was conducted by renowned cardiologist
Dr. Ranjan Kumar Sharma.
Dr. Sandip Mukhopadhyay, Scientist E,
ICMR-NICED delivered the Dharanidhar Chaudhuri Memorial Oration 2022 talking on
"Digital Health & therapeutics”.
Prof. Arun Kumar Singh, HOD of Neonatology,
AIIMS- Jodhpur delivered the Guest lecture which remained an eye-opener for
many.
The Ex-students of Burdwan Medical
College attended Reunion 2022 with full energy. Several awards were presented
to present and recently passed Medical Students for their performances in
different examinations. Ex students Association also felicitated the COVID
vaccination team of Burdwan Medical College for their remarkable contribution during
the COVID pandemic.

during 24-26 November, 2023. Two hands on workshops were conducted targeting
the medical students and young doctors. Workshop on Bandage & plastering was
moderated by expert Orthopaedicians like Dr. Debdatta Chatterjee, Dr. Debabrata
Banerji, Dr. Suklal Hembram and Dr. Swapan Banik. The workshop on Suturing
techniques was conducted by renowned surgeon Dr. Subhranka Chakraborti.
Dr. Narendranath Mukherjee, former Professor
& Head of Surgery, Burdwan Medical College delivered the Dharanidhar
Chaudhuri Memorial Oration 2023.
Prof. Shyamal Kumar Basu, former HOD
of Anatomy Burdwan Medical College & former Principal of Medical College,
Kolkata delivered the Guest lecture.The Reunion has made the Ex students
nostalgic about the College Days.

Invocation Ceremony for Final Year MBBS Students
On February 17th, 2024, the Ex-Students Association of Burdwan Medical
College organized a momentous 'Invocation Ceremony' aimed at guiding and
motivating final-year MBBS students for their upcoming final examinations. This
event, a first of its kind in any medical college across West Bengal, was met
with great enthusiasm and was attended by over 140 students.The ceremony featured prominent Head of the Departments from various
disciplines, including Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology,
Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, among others. These esteemed faculty
members shared invaluable last-minute tips and provided essential guidance to
help the students excel in their exams.The initiative was well-received, with both ex-students and current
students expressing their appreciation for the support and wisdom imparted
during the event. The gathering fostered a sense of unity and camaraderie,
highlighting the strong community spirit within Burdwan Medical College. This
landmark event set a precedent for future engagements and emphasized the
importance of alumni involvement in shaping the academic success of current
students.
Modernizing the Medical Education Unit of Burdwan Medical College: ESA BMC donates Modern Sound System to Medical Education Unit.
In a significant gesture to support and enhance the activities of the
Medical Education Unit (MEU) at Burdwan Medical College, the Ex-Students
Association donated a modern sound system. The handover ceremony took place on
June 9th, 2024, with Dr. RN Dalui, President of the Ex-Students Association,
Dr. Subhranka Chakraborty, Secretary ESA, and Dr. SP Roy Chaudhury, former
Secretary of ESA, representing the association.The new sound system was installed in the MEU room and officially handed
over to the Principal of Burdwan Medical College. This donation is aimed at
promoting and supporting the educational and training initiatives of the MEU,
ensuring better audio-visual experiences during meetings and training programs.Earlier this year, a room in the New Academic cum Administrative building
was renovated and handed over to the MEU to facilitate its activities. This
upgraded space is now fully equipped to host various educational events, thanks
to the recent addition of the sound system.The Ex-Students Association continues to play a crucial role in
contributing to the development of Burdwan Medical College, fostering a strong
connection between past and present members of the institution.
